Spray Tanning - Fully Automatic Spray Tan in Reading

At The Skin Center in Reading we have a fully automatic Spray Tan booth. The KYSS booth by Mystic Tan is the latest in UV-free tanning technology. It uses Mystic Tan’s patented MagnaTan technology and sweeping airbrush motion to give each client a perfectly uniform tan in under 3 minutes.

The booth works with individual single-use tanning cartridges giving our clients the freedom to choose one of our light, medium or dark solutions. There is a heater in the unit to keep you warm and comfortable during the session as well as assist in drying the solution.

SPRAY TAN PREPARATION

Before a spray session clients should follow a few simple guidelines to get the best results possible. A staff member will run you through it prior to your session and give you tips. Should you not consider the information stated below, you may encounter issues with your results.

EXFOLIATE / PREP

The day before receiving a spray tan, clients are encouraged to exfoliate in the shower and shave.

SHAVING / WAVING

Any shaving or waxing should be done 24 hours prior to a spray tan. Also be sure to wash off any residue from wax or shaving creams from all shaved areas before doing a spray session. Be sure not to apply any moisturizers, make-up or deodorants before a spray session, as they will interfere with the development of the colour.

CLOTHING

The solution is clear so it won’t stain clothes. We recommend that you wear loose fitting, older clothing the day you come in to do a spray tan. Wearing clothing such as bathing suits or undergarments inside the booth during your spray session is not recommended.

CUSTOMIZE YOUR TAN

Mystic Tan Accelerator balances your skin’s pH levels which in turn gives you a faster, deeper, darker tan. Balancing your pH levels is important because it preps your skin for the tanning solution, resulting in even absorption of color.

With Mystic Tan Accelerator, you’ll start to see your spray tan develop in as little as 2 hours! These quick results are perfect when you’re tanning before an event, leaving for vacation, or whenever you need beautiful results fast.

Mystic Tan Accelerator also helps to reduce free-radical damage and environmental stress on your skin. Free-radicals are molecules that damage your living skin cells. Cutting back on this type of damage will help protect your skin from premature aging.

Your skin is going to thank you for the moisture and hydration Accelerator offers. While hydration, in general, is great for your skin every single day, added hydration will help your spray tan last longer. That’s because it’s easier for hydrated skin to stay tan for a longer period of time, as dry skin tends to exfoliate faster.

We also have 3 scents which can be added to the tan for a additional £2. You can choose from Warm Vanilla, Fresh or Lime and Coconut

IMPORTANT

• Avoid using any kind of moisturizer that is oil based for the 24-hour period prior to or after you session, to allow DHA to set properly. Stay away from Bath & Body Works products, as well as any Dove products.
• Dry skin absorbs more solution but can appear blotchy and uneven. Beware of dry winter skin!
• It’s very important to use blending cream on your hands, and neat feet on your feet, to avoid over development.
• Solution won’t stain most types of clothing or material, but will stain elastic waistbands, silk, spandex and rayon.
• You can wash your hands after a couple of hours, same goes for your face.

RECOMMENDATIONS

• The use of ‘blending cream’ provided on your hands and feet. (Between fingers and toes, on your nails, palms and soles of your feet).
• Wear a hair net with your hairline exposed, and ears pulled away from hairnet.
• Remove make up before your session.
• Wear dark colour clothing for the first 24 hours.
• Use the supplied wipes to wipe down your feet and hands.
• Wait a minimum of 8 hours before showering or bathing. Avoid chlorine and pools, as it will affect your colour.

Your tan will take a minimum of 8 hours to develop. Final results will show after 24-36 hours. So we recommend having your tan done a couple of days before an event.
